Plan Manager Jay Jasperse requested that I forward to you the attached Water Supply Strategies Action Plan (WSSAP), prepared by Sonoma Water staff. The first WSSAP was completed in 2010, and it was updated in 2011 and 2013. Workshops were held with the Sonoma Water Board of Directors, which recognized the WSSAP as a living document. The drought and the 2017 fires were a reminder of the need for resiliency and a diversified water strategy, and Sonoma Water is pleased to present the 2018 update.
Groundwater is a critical component of the WSSAP, and is discussed under “Strategy 1: Protect drinking water supply and promote water-use efficiency”, “Strategy 3: Utilize regional planning to increase water supply resiliency”, “Strategy 4: Respond and adapt to climate change,” and “Strategy 7: Seek federal and state funding.”
The Sonoma Water Board of Directors will be receiving a presentation on the WSSAP and providing feedback on Monday, September 30, at approximately 1 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors Chambers. The meeting can be viewed online.
Please let Jay ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
