The Redwood Empire Food Bank is continuing to offer food distribution for anyone in need at the Parking Lot of the Jack London Village the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each Month from 9:00PM to 11:00AM.

A small stalwart crew made the trek for our first Glen Ellen Forum volunteer day at Redwood Empire Food Bank earlier this month. We packed 5,400lbs of Apples! Full disclosure, we had a little help from other volunteers from all over Sonoma County.

The Food Bank is looking for volunteers to help in their warehouse. More information is available at www.refb.org.

Renovations to Begin on the Garden Court/McCormick’s Mercantile Building

Renovations are starting this month on the building at the Northeast corner of Arnold and Carquinez. Great news! The Garden Court Cafe will remain open until construction starts later this winter and McCormick’s Mercantile will be opening a temporary pop-up shop across the street in the old veterinarian’s building in February. Both businesses will reopen when construction is complete early this summer. Look forward to an enlarged Garden Court Cafe with outdoor seating, new bathrooms, and a modernized kitchen. The new building will have 8 residential units and an electric car charging station! Construction schedules can certainly change. Cross your fingers for an on time completion.

Great time had by all at the Glen Ellen Community Holiday Social and Community Meal!

Thank you to all who attended our Holiday Community Meal at the Kenwood Depot on November 17, and our festive gathering at the Jack London Lodge on December 9. Thank you to our generous donors and our wonderful volunteers who make these events possible.
